Finally A Good Day!

Hello everyone,

I had my first good appointment, yay!! I met with the midwife at my new provider this morning. I got there at 8:45 AM. I know, I know what person is up that early on their off day lol. I  was on time, and had all the correct paperwork, so I was ready to go. Everyone in the office was really nice. I had to wait a little, ok a lot but the midwife was at the hospital at another birth, so I can respect that. She answered all my questions, let me listen to my baby's heartbeat, and everything was good to go :-)

My next visit will be in July, and they can tell me the sex of the baby. But I am not sure I want to know. I like the idea of it being a surprise. My fiance on the other hand, wants to find out and hounds me everyday about it, but I am going to stick to my guns on this one.

After this visit, I feel like I can get excited now! I am going to start researching hypnobirthing, so let me know if you know any good books!

I am thinking about a frog theme, for a neutral baby room. What are good neutral themes and colors?

See you soon!
Sabrina

  1. I am so glad you found a midwife that you like. I am sure that relieves a lot of stress. I wanted our second baby to be a surprise but my hubby was like Big Head and wanted to know. For him, he wanted to know because he felt like he could connect with and form more of an attachment to the baby once he could call her by her name, so I agreed although she was stubborn and did not let us see until our 4th attempt at 26 weeks. Do you feel like its a boy or girl? With my first I did not feel anything one way or another but with my second I knew right away she was a girl. You could do lots of different themed rooms. Frogs would be cute with blues and greens and you could make them frog princes or princesses after the baby is born. My cousin and his wife didn't find out the sex and did a jungle themed nursery. I love sea themed nurseries. Monkey's are really cute too. Nurseries are so much fun! I am sure you could find a bunch of cute ideas on Pinterest as well.

    1. Thanks Chelsea!! I think Big head wants to be able to say "I am having a daughter or a son." But because he will miss my appointment, I dont want him to be the second to know. His mother is coming with me, and I dont want her to know before him lol I am really leaning toward an "under the sea" theme since I am close to the beach lol. When did you start doing your nursery with your first? And what are your top 3 nursery must haves?

      Thanks :-)

  2. I never got to do a full nursery with either of the girls because we were renting and not allowed to paint so it was pretty much just getting the crib ready. I didn't do anything until after my baby shower with my first. I had my baby shower at 30 weeks so that gave me plenty of time to get everything ready and get anything I didn't at my baby shower that I really wanted. Honestly unless you find a nursery bedding set you are in love with I wouldn't buy one. I only used the sheet and bumper out of mine and it came with like 10 other things. You can usually just buy pieces of sets. I love my little diaper caddy. It's just a simple thing but comes in handy. I just stuck with a lot of basics that came in handy. Extra sheets, swaddling blankets, burp cloths. I don't recommend getting a wipe or bottle warmer. I think both are a waste of money. If you are going to breast feed a boppy pillow and extra covers is great. Even if you aren't the boppy pillow is nice to have. I can't think of anything else right now but if you ever have any questions you can just send a message.
